11 Reasons Why The Crown is the Best Show on Netflix

From getting the "tea" on all the royal drama to the secret love stories to fashion, I'll tell you why...

1. ☕️The “Tea"

In a metaphorical sense, you get a peek into real life drama of the royal family and other major historical figures (from Winston Churchill to JFK). See what really happened behind closed doors. **Spoiler alert: The Queenie has catfights with Jackie O.

2. 👗The Fashion

It’s historically accurate for what the royals wore in real life. It transports you through each decade’s trends starting with the 1940’s and now up to the 1980's in season 4 with Princess Diana’s debut!

3. 🇬🇧 Your Royal Fix

If you’re obsessed with the royals from Diana to Will/Kate and Harry/Meghan, you’ll learn the backstory about their family and what they were really born into. It covers almost a 100 years of dramz.

4. 🥃 Princess Margaret is like the Royal Gossip Girl.

She posed naked for the newspaper, defied her family, dressed amazing, and partied all the time. She’s like the cool Gossip Girl of the royal family that you didn’t know existed.

5. 🎭 The Acting.

It’s brilliant, one of the best I’ve seen and has won a ton of awards. The writing and storylines are also inventive and have twists and turns. You’ll fall in love and have empathy, sympathy, or anger for the characters.

6. 👑 The Queen’s Personality.

See a side of her that you’ve never seen before. The series starts with right before she takes the crown at age 25. She’s more human, more vulnerable. Get a glimpse for why she has one of the hardest jobs in the entire world and the real f*cking work she has to do to keep her country together. It’s not just a fun fancy role.

7. 💔 The Love Stories.

From scandals like Princess Margaret wanting to be with someone her family didn’t approve of, to the Queen’s Crush, to Prince Phillip cheating (Queen's husband). There’s lots of scandal and romance.

8. 📚 “Historically Accurate”.

It’s based on real historical events. While still fiction a lot of what you see really happened, figuratively. The writers say it’s “painstakingly researched” and royal experts are involved. For history nerds like me, you’ll learn about the world in each decade and what went on behind the scenes with world figures.

9. 🎥 The Cinematography.

The sets and designs are accurate and beautiful. The way it’s shot is gorgeous and artsy. If you’re obsessed with Europe and are missing it this year, you’ll get your fix.

10. 🎶 The Music.

I’m always shazaaming the music while watching and have built a solid list of favorite oldies and others songs. My favorite is “I only have eyes for you” by the Flamingos.

11. ⚢ Women rule the show.

The show has mostly female lead characters. The sisterly bond between the Queen and Princess Margaret is real and beautiful.
