28 Day Gratitude Challenge
How to be more grateful
This is for everyone that wants a daily tool to help them find more happiness in their lives.
I’m a very appreciative person, but I’ve always wondered if I can get better at being so. Sometimes I forget about the good going on, and let one bad day or event bring me down. I want to feel less doubtful and feel more positive on a daily basis.
Thus, I’ve started the 28-day “grateful challenge” via The Secret’s branded journal called “The Magic”. Think of it like a grad-school program on gratitude.
I’m turning 34 in a few short weeks and frankly, I know sick and tired of spending years feeling stuck or being sad about things that aren’t going perfectly to plan. I’d spend months wallowing about a failed relationship. Months being upset with the job I’ve had. Months worrying about my past or future.
How it works:
Each morning, you write 10 things you’re grateful for.
As the days go on, you partake in other “grateful activities” meant to open up your heart to being more appreciative in areas we may all agree upon need improving (our families, our relationships, our health, jobs, etc).
I’m only a few days in but can’t recommend this book enough. It’s different than the actual secret btw, it’s called “The Magic”. It’s not religious, it’s not spiritual, it’s just a catalyst for you to bring more happiness in your life. I feel it permeating my attitude and heart already.
I’m seeing more beauty in the mundane things like my shower for having strong water pressure, my ability to walk to work in 10-minutes, to silly things I’d usually complain about like my rounder butt since gaining weight this past winter?!
I know I can and should be a more grateful person. And life is precious. So I’m trying...starting now.
